MaLTS lunchtime Zoom meeting: A Short Introduction to Tolkien in Malvern

Tolkien is usually associated with Oxford, perhaps Birmingham or even New Zealand(!), but the picturesque spa town of Malvern has suprisingly strong connections to Tolkien. His main connections seems to have been through a friendship with George Sayer (Head of English Literature at Malvern College), with whom C. S. Lewis was also a friend. But do the connections run deeper than this? Did Malvern inspire Tolkien's imaginary world in anyway? John Usher, MaLTS Chair, has reseached these themes and will present some of his findings at this lunch time Zoom meeting.
